Fuchsia Coffee

During school, I was tasked with creating a company brand based off of a HEX color (#CA2A7A), a company name, and a short write-up about the company’s information and demographic.
Fuchsia Coffee is a fictional urban coffee brand, based around Seattle Diner-Style coffee, and they are targeting those in the 20 to 40 yr old demographic who are looking for a less pretentious brand than the usual competitors.

I started off with a few different directions on where I wanted to go, but the two main focuses that I seemed to have were gravitating around coffee beans and hummingbirds, which drink the nectar from fuchsia flowers.

I ended up selecting a design that relates to the hummingbird, showing a minimalistic profile, with the stomach area of the bird having been replaced by a half of a coffee bean. The color combination was a blue head, pink body, and the orange wing, before moving on to the next decision which would be the logo fonts. I knew that I wanted to have a text and image logo, so I made the decision to have the
hummingbird perched on the "F" of the word Fuchsia and to make the text a shade or two darker than the brown of the coffee bean.
Once I had the logo completed, I needed to work on the design elements for both the packaging as well as the brand stationary. For the main elements, I chose to go with a brightly colored (fuchsia, blue, green, and orange) skyline that represented Seattle and leaned away from the sleek look that the mainstream coffee brands tend to have, and a half-tone dot pattern that consisted of the fuchsia coloring.
